Amanda Jones
Amanda Jones is a
self-taught artist and a writer. She has studied and practiced Decorative
Painting for 10 years and has written a course, Stone & Metal Finishes for
Suite 101 University, www.Suite101.com.
Amanda has lived in
Northern Virginia for 30 years and teaches several courses for Fairfax
County, Adult Education, including, Decorative Faux Finishes I – III,
Decoupage,
Gilding and Stenciling. In
addition Amanda has just signed on to teach Decorative Faux Finishes I for
Northern Virginia Community College, Adult Enrichment, Manassas Campus. A

Robin Bear
Robin began faux painting 10 years ago for herself and for friends...As
the story goes, they told two friends and so on and so on. She has a
bachelor's degree in business management from UMD and an associate's
degree in studio arts. She has continued her art education through
classes at the Art League in Alexandria, The Loudoun Academy of the Arts
and Faux Like a Pro in Boston, MA. Also a member of Capitol Area
Stencilers. Her portfolio includes faux finishes, venetian plaster, murals
and stenciling. She works part-time as a painter and full -time as a
mother of two preschoolers. She lives in Leesburg, VA and prefers to work
in that vicinity

Rebecca Hotop
Rebecca Hotop has a BA degree/pre-law from
Michigan State University. She began the folk art style of stroke work (tole
painting) while living in Germany in 1988. She later expanded into other
decor ative painting styles and faux. She has studied with Donna Mabrey,
Melanie Royals, Jennifer Rebecca Design, Neil Cody/ Briste Group and
recently returned from studying in Italy with Faux Effects, Int. Her
favorite finishes are LusterStone, subtle tone-on-tone glazes and artistic

Tim
Knepp Extremely
talented at an early age, Tim Knepp was awarded an Art scholarship at 10
years old to the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh in drawing and painting,
he later continued his Art studies at Penn State and Kent State
Universities. His work has been commissioned by Disney, Ringly Brothers.
Circus, Time Life Books, National Zoo, National Wildlife Federation USDA and
even created the Art for a Postage Stamp for the United States Postal
Service.

Heidi Gallegos
Heidi Gallegos is a mother and former teacher. She first began painting 2
years ago and trained with Adrienne van Dooren in August, 2003. She does
base coating (spackle work, sanding, priming, painting) and specializes in
Lusterstone, Tissue Paper finish, bagging, color washing and plasters.

Payne
Sandra
Payne’s art has developed through her twenty years of combined study in
decorative painting, a degree in fine arts, and a diverse work experience.
In 1994 Sandra started her own mural and decorative painting business.
Sandra has since collaborated and shared skills with other talented artist
and has taught decorative painting classes. Canvas Sky is a premier
artistic painting company that provides custom design and implementation of
murals, trompe l’ oeil, and all aspects of decorative painted finishes to
commercial and residential settings. Commercial projects have included
corporate and public spaces, retail, restaurants, churches, and fitness
centers. One of her favorite projects was painting a landscape mural with
artist partner, Tim Knepp, at the National Zoo’s Panda House.

Christine Peglar
Chris Peglar studied
graphic illustration at Virginia Commonwealth University from 1987 - 1991.
All of her designs incorporate graphic solutions with the latest faux
products. She enjoys ragging, stenciling, painting tone on tone stripes,
using textured products, and applying Venetian plaster. She also excels at
painting children's rooms.
